| Flexibility, efficiency and process monitoring Both the foodstuff and pharmaceutical industries are facing considerable global challenges with increased competition from low-income countries and owner requirements regarding cost reduction and increased earnings. In addition to this, there is price pressure from larger chains, changes in consumer patterns, as well as customer demand for quality products that are safe and comply with environmental and health requirements, in unison with the entire value chain. The solution to these complex issues is flexibility, efficiency and process monitoring. Flexibility in, say, when converting packing machinery, as the differentiation of products that are identical, or nearly identical, often happens during the packing process with various private labels.
